May is Bike Month and Thursday May 17, 2018 is Bike to Work Day! Ride your bicycle for your morning commute to celebrate with the entire city! With over 100 Pit Stops throughout San Diego, your commute is made easier with refreshsments and activities at each stop. Map out your commute with this handy BTWD Map!

Stop by  our Bike to Work Day (BTWD) Pit Stop Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Scrimshaw Coffee (5542 El Cajon Boulevard)! We will be there from 6am until 9:00am.

Annual Meeting & Elections Mixer

2018 Annual Elections!

The ballots have been recieved and the votes are being talllied! Online voting is closed, but there is one last chance for eligible businesses and commercial property owners of the College Area Business District to cast a vote for the 2018-2019 Board of Directors at the  Annual Meeting & Elections Mixer!

The Halloween season is amongst us, which means it’s time for the College Area Business District to give you a scare at our upcoming Halloween Mixer.
Join us, if you dare, for a spooky evening of mixing and mingling with area businesses and community members.
The evening will include festive flare to celebrate the district’s upcoming annual Boulevard BOO! Parade.

ADA Compliance Workshop

This Workshop is for local businesses and property owners to educate and help reduce the chances of being hit by a “drive-by” lawsuit, improving access for the disabled. Learn about ADA California law, from a Certified Access Specialist. This workshop will give you steps to take to reduce your chances of being sued and help better serve clients.

Meet our Certified Access Specialist:

Sandi Miles has 25 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, specializing in site accessibility projects over the last 14 years.  Ms. Miles is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp #346) in the state of California and is certified by the International Code Council as an Accessibility Plans Examiner and Inspector. Offering a full range of accessibility compliance including; accessibility site inspections, CASp reports, accessibility plan review, training presentations, training classes, Title II, Title III, and Fair Housing Act review.  In addition, Ms. Miles has performed grading design, construction management and inspection of projects as well as developed a variety of project-specific documents for civil engineering projects.

Accessibility is a topic of deep personal concern to Ms. Miles.  Her compassion is personal and she is dedicated to ongoing continuing education to see the entire scope of accessibility issues instead of focusing on one aspect.
