The College Area Business District is offering “Office Hours Consulting”: one-on-one consulting exclusively for College Area Business District businesses from the experts of San Diego’s business assistance organizations.
Come to this workshop to meet these experts and learn how you can get FREE guidance for your business from the pros!
This workshop was created as a resource for College Area Business District business owners to introduce San Diego’s premier business assistance organizations. Whether you are struggling with your business’ marketing strategy, looking for business financing, or simply in need of assistance dealing with unrealistic customer expectations, there is an organization that can help you create a plan to tackle whatever business matter you may be struggling with.
In this workshop you will:
- Get to know the 5 leading business assistance organizations
- Learn how each organization can assist your business
- Identify your business’ shortcoming and identify which organization can aid in developing a strategy
- Have the opportunity to ask business specific questions

About the Instructors:
Natasha Englehardt has been a Social Media Manager for Platt College San Diego for over 4 years. She’s also a board member for the College Area Business District’s Board of Directors. Helping small businesses, artists and nonprofits discover the benefits of social media is something she is passionate about and loves collaborating with the local community. Thanks to her social media and design skills she has had her work featured by the band No Doubt, Disneyland, The San Diego Safari Park, Adobe and NBC San Diego.
Louis Nava is a Consultant and Technology Coach specializing in helping organizations, businesses, and communities grow online for the past 20 years. He is recognized statewide for his work in helping bridge the digital divide and increase digital literacy for the community. In 2012, Louis became a Google partner and community liaison to help deliver new tools and strategies for business owners, enabling them to increase their visibility and revenue. His IT Technology skills include, but are not limited to, technology instructor, computer education, graphic design, web design, video production, photography, Virtual Reality and animation.

Join Us for the College Area Food Experience/ CAFE Event!

Join the College Area Business District for the College Area Food Experience, C.A.F.É. Visit with over 20 diverse dining destinations on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This foodie event promises to be more delicious than ever. Scope out new favorite eateries and visit your regular “go-to” favorites as you satisfy your stomach with scrumptious samples from quaint cafés to budding bistros around the evolving College Area!
You will work up an appetite on this self-guided tour. Whether you prefer authentic Mediterranean flavors, down home cookin’ like your mom’s, mouth-watering gastropub fare or other sweet or savory treats. The College Area Food Experience has something just for you. Stop into try some of the new restaurants that call the College Area home like Dirty Birds College Area, Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen or Mirch Masala 2go.

College Area Business District’s Annual Meeting and Elections Breakfast

This year, the College Area Business District will be hosting an Annual Meeting Breakfast at Bistro Sixty (5987 El Cajon Boulevard). Included with breakfast will be the final vote for the 2016 Board Elections . We encourage all Commercial Property owners and Business owners of the College Area Business District to attend.
This will be the perfect opportunity to mix and mingle with the over 750 members of the College Area Business District and to get to know the board members of the College Area Business District.
Join us for this year’s Annual Meeting and Board Elections at Bistro Sixty. Tickets are only $10 which includes Food and Drinks. Come mix and mingle with your fellow business and property owners of the area, and bring your ballots with you (if you haven’t already voted), to help the College Area Business District pick the best composition of Board Members to represent, you!

Nominations are now Open!

It’s that time of year when the College Area Business District elects new board members. At this time, we are requesting nominations from YOU, the general membership.
Eligible College Area business tax certificate holders and property owners are asked to nominate themselves or another eligible person to run for this election. Some of the incumbents are running for their previous seats, however, every seat will be elected by the general membership of eligible business of the College Area Business District and property owners of the College Heights Maintenance Assessment District. The elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday April 20, 2016.
If you would like to nominate yourself or another eligible person, Click Here. All Nominations must be received no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2016 to be reviewed and considered for election ballot.
This year’s Nominating Committee will review the list of nominees and determine eligibility. A final ballot of all eligible nominees will then be presented at the March 16, 2016 Board Meeting.
